Acceptance speech by Kimberly Mara, for “Business Person of the Year!”

“Thank you very much for this award. It is truly an honor to be here in the first place, as a nominee. I have felt passionate about Photography ever since I was 12 years old when I owned my first camera. Now my career as a photographer is to see and capture moments in my clients’ lives and document them for an eternal keepsake. Thus, creating a visual narrative that will forever tell their story. Such as Maternity, Newborns, Families, Weddings, and Friendships. The perfect photo evokes the emotion of a certain moment…..and my goal is to create artistic and memorable portraits that document the essence of that moment in life.

To be able to share these intimate moments with my clients and have this incredible responsibility to capture them on film is a privilege I do not take for granted! With that being said…I would first like to thank my clients who have entrusted me with these moments. Also, my daughter Maddison,…..who is my favourite model, and who has taught me patience with toddlers behind the camera. Also my husband Dave …. who gives me inspiration that feeds my passion for photography and supports me all the way.

To my assistant Amanda……. a wonderful & organized help to me in the studio. And to my friends….. who support me and believe in me….. some of who are with me here tonight.

My other passion besides photography, is traveling. My camera and I have been to many beautiful places including Thailand, China, Sweden, Greece, Turkey, Ireland, Mexico, and all over the USA. I always seem to find a group of kids that want their photo taken…. and to see it in the viewfinder afterwards of course.
